Paulines’ Update – 4th September 2011

Paulines’ Update – 4th September 2011

Hello!

WOW! Where have I heard that before?

Kylie of course! She of the gold hot pants (do you have a similar pair just waiting to be worn)?

WOW! That’s the message behind our fantastic ProPoints plan currently promoted on TV, radio and in the national press.

Believe it or not, it’s just fifteen weeks until Santa comes knocking and probably even less for when we will be wanting to get into that LBD or slim fitting tuxedo.

Providing we’ve gone back to basics as we talked about last week and reviewed our personal weight loss files, we won’t have to struggle with the zippers and we’ll look and feel so gorgeous.

On the back of last week’s meeting we will be looking at how we can set ourselves SMART clear, realistic weight loss goals in your meeting from Monday.

Making realistic goal setting a habit encourages sustained and permanent weight loss. We will be looking at ways to identify a next small, realistic goal or milestone as well as discussing how we’re going  to make the small changes happen.

As a starter, planning in some ‘you time’ to enable you to stay for the discussion is a goal worth setting in itself.

Remember, research has shown that those members who stay to the meeting regularly have a more successful weight loss than those who don’t.

Don’t forget to visit your meeting shop this week for the following special offers:

  • Three boxes of bars (mix ‘n’ match) for £5
  • Deluxe Essentials Pack £17.45
  • ProPoints Calculator £7.45

Chocolate Crisp bars are also in stock along with Cappuccino Sachets for just 1 ProPoint each.

Finally, why not check out the Weight Watchers Supermarket Food Range with the following new products available at ASDA:

  • Vanilla Iced Dessert
  • 2 Chicken Sandwich Wraps
  • Mint Hot Choc

Have a good week.

  • Owlsmoor  40 lbs and two 10% awards
  • Crowthorne 71 lbs
  • Sandhurst  72  lbs and one Gold award
  • Wokingham 35 lbs

  • Wokingham Thursday 25 lbs and one 10% award
  • Blackwater 26 lbs,  one 10% award and one Gold award
  • Total 388 lbs and equivalent to 1,293 hot dogs!

Members were delighted to achieve their Gold awards in time for the looming party season.

I wonder how many more members will achieve their Gold awards before Xmas?  Watch this space!

The meeting topic last week focused our minds on, not only the support given to members and their weight loss efforts but conversely, how to identify and deal with situations and people who could sabotage our plan.

This week we are looking at filling, fibre-rich wholegrain foods.

Your Week  will give us some ideas on where to find them and how to fit more of them into our meals and snacks.

There will also be plenty of delicious wholegrain recipes to inspire us for the week ahead.

To give Members an idea of how wholegrain foods can be given an exotic twist this week they will be treated to a recipe from eSource, our Internet companion.

This is just one of the 10,000 recipes available to download by members who have purchased  a monthly pass.

The recipe we will be using has a bulgar wheat base, zero point vegetables and feta cheese.

All for just 4 pts per serving!

Enjoy your week!

Paulines’ Update – 26th September 2010

Paulines’ Update – 26th September 2010

Hello!

Weight loss news

·         Farnborough 23 lbs

·         Owlsmoor  14lbs

·         Crowthorne 35 lbs and one 10% award

·         Sandhurst  58 lbs and one 10% award

·         Wokingham 36 lbs and one 10% award

·         Tadley  56 lbs, three 10% awards and one Gold award

·         FPH 28 lbs and one 10% award

·         Wokingham Thursday 42 lbs, four 10% awards and two Gold awards

·         Blackwater 21 lbs and one 10% award

Total 313 lbs and equivalent to 5 ½ sacks of potatoes

Altogether last week was a fantastic week for weight loss and awards.

Tadley and the Thursday Wokingham meetings were particularly successful with 7 10% awards and three Gold awards between them.

I nearly ran out of 10% key rings!

Apologies for the missing update last week but the realisation that I had been awarded a Diamond Leader award at the Weight Watchers conference last Saturday just addled my brain!

It’s important that I give special thanks to the meeting teams for helping me to achieve this milestone. As, without the support they give me each week and assistance in making the meetings run smoothly, members would not receive the service they have come to expect. Thanks again.

Last week we looked at the strategies supermarkets use to influence what we put in our shopping basket.

Top of the list was BOGOF. Moving basic foods around the store was another one and the smell of freshly baked bread also impacted on the choices we made.

Member experience discussed in the meetings showed that there are ways to beat these influences even if it includes Internet shopping or even sending your partner to do the shopping (just  make sure they have a list)!

The meeting topic this week is about support.

Do we get support from friends and family which helps us to stay in control and on plan?

Or, are there saboteurs out there, making things difficult for us?

Our meeting discussion will be based on this three-step strategy:

1. Identify your saboteurs

2. Understand why they are being unhelpful

3. Devise practical strategies to enlist their support.

I am looking forward to this topic so I can get rid of my biggest saboteur – me!

Have a great week!

Paulines’ Update – 11th September 2010

Paulines’ Update – 11th September 2010

Hello!

Weight loss news

  • Farnborough 9 lbs

  • Owlsmoor  14lbs and one Gold award

  • Crowthorne 26 lbs

  • Sandhurst  62 lbs

  • Wokingham 33 lbs

  • Tadley  39 lbs

  • FPH 25 lbs

  • Wokingham Thursday 48 lbs and one 10% award

  • Blackwater 49 lbs and one Gold award

  • Total 256 lbs and equivalent to Santa and, he will be here in just 15 weeks!

Last week’s topic of lifestyle challenges refocused member’s minds on the basics of the plan.

Promises were made to change some behaviour this week, in particular, not helping the children to clear their plates.  Members were reminded that their bodies are not waste disposal units but ‘temples’.

The expression ‘if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got’ was used often in the meeting discussions resulting in members adopting a positive attitude to their weight loss goals and motivated for the week ahead.

Our meeting topic this week is ‘filling foods’ and the key role they play on Discover Plan.

One of the great things about ‘filling foods’ is they can help us to stretch our points allowance and keep us satisfied.

A demonstration will be given in the meetings on how ‘filling foods’ can be used to make a delicious dessert or breakfast using berries and porridge for just 2.5 pts.

Stretching our points indeed!

Have a great week!
